How to Prepare for Your Service Visit

Scheduling Service

A few simple preparations help your service visit go smoothly and efficiently.

A little preparation before your service appointment helps ensure the visit goes smoothly and efficiently. Here is how to get ready.

Clear a path to the appliance. Remove any items blocking access, including rugs, furniture, or stored items. The technician needs room to work and may need to pull out the appliance.

If the appliance is built into cabinetry, like a Sub-Zero refrigerator, try to create as much workspace as possible. Remove decorative items from nearby counters.

Have the appliance accessible. This seems obvious, but sometimes appliances are blocked by trash cans, step stools, or other items that need to be moved.

If you have pets, please secure them in another room. This is for both the safety of our technician and your pet, and prevents distractions during the service call.

Find your model and serial number before the appointment. This information is usually on a tag inside the appliance door, on the back, or under the lid. Having it ready speeds up the process.

Note any error codes the appliance has displayed. Write them down exactly as they appeared. These codes provide valuable diagnostic information.

If the problem is intermittent, try to be prepared to demonstrate or describe exactly when and how it occurs. Video recordings on your phone can be helpful for hard-to-reproduce issues.
