Range and Oven Maintenance Tips

Maintenance Guides

Keep your range and oven performing at their best with these maintenance practices.

Proper maintenance of your range and oven ensures consistent cooking performance and extends the life of your appliance.

Clean spills immediately when they occur. Baked-on food is harder to remove and can affect heating element performance or cause smoke and odors.

For gas ranges, keep burner ports clear. Food debris can clog the small holes around the burner head. Clean them periodically with a straight pin, not a toothpick that could break off inside.

Remove and clean burner grates and caps regularly. Soak in warm soapy water to remove grease buildup, then dry thoroughly before replacing.

Use your oven's self-clean function according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Too frequent self-cleaning can shorten component life, but too infrequent allows buildup.

Check the oven door seal for damage and proper fit. A compromised seal allows heat to escape, wasting energy and causing uneven cooking.

Clean oven racks separately. Remove them before self-cleaning to prevent discoloration. Soak in the tub or use oven cleaner and a brush.

For Wolf and other professional ranges, annual professional inspection ensures all safety systems function correctly and cooking performance remains optimal.
