Bosch ranges: the three faults that account for most calls
Whether the cooktop is gas or induction changes the fault list completely, so that is the first thing to settle before reading any further.

Gas: clicking, and burners that will not light
Bosch gas cooktops use one spark module for the whole surface, so a single wet or dirty electrode makes every burner click. After a spill, dry the top thoroughly — including under the caps, which hold water for far longer than anyone expects — and leave it a few hours before deciding anything is broken.
A burner that sparks but will not carry a flame is usually a seating or a port problem. Caps and heads have one correct orientation, and a head that has been rotated a few degrees during cleaning will spark to a place the gas is not. Blocked ports from a boil-over do the same thing from the other direction.

Induction: codes, fans and heat
An induction hob is a power electronics cabinet with a glass lid, and it protects itself aggressively. Most error codes on these tops are thermal or supply related rather than failures: a cooling fan obstructed by the cabinet below, a hot appliance underneath, or a supply issue on one leg of the connection. A top that works when cold and stops after twenty minutes is describing a cooling problem, not a dying board.
Genuine failures do happen at the power module and the generator board, and they are usually zone-specific — one ring dead while the others behave. That pattern is worth reporting precisely, because it is diagnostic on its own.
A cracked or chipped glass top takes the appliance out of service. Do not keep cooking on it: the glass is structural and it is directly above live electronics.

The oven, and the self-clean trap
Two things dominate Bosch oven calls. The first is the temperature sensor, which drifts and takes the oven off its set point without any other symptom. The second is the aftermath of a self-clean cycle: the cavity reaches temperatures that finish off a tired thermal cut-out or a door latch motor, and the oven comes out of the cycle locked shut or completely dead.
That is worth knowing in advance, because the safest time to run a self-clean is not the day before a holiday. If a Canton kitchen has an oven that gets used hard in December, run the cycle in November.
